In rememberance of a fallen friend

A long time ago a young man played constantly with us although suffering with a terminal undisclosed illness, he always enjoyed his time here. One heck of a person his spirit was always high and optimistic even though he was truly suffering. He finally got some rest when he passed away about 6 years ago, I would like to take a minute and remember our long lost fallen friend UDT-Spider

UDT learned this morning that our friend and squad mate UDT--Spider, aka Jon, has passed away today, January 28 2006. From details given to us by family members, we learned that he did not wake up this morning, perhaps being spared some of the pain he has been experiencing these past few months. We ask for your prayers for his family and friends who are grieving. We at UDT appreciate all the concern the community has shown Spider in the past month. With God giving him two extra months beyond the original time zero date of Thanksgiving, he has helped unite this community and focus us all on the most important matters in life such as family, friends, principles, virtues, and even life itself. May we remember the person for who he was and what he stood for. We at UDT will grieve for a long time...

Way back in 1997 Novalogic released their Delta Force series game. That was my first crack at online gaming and got pretty wrapped up in it for a while. We started a small group that would jump on servers at the time and had a blast. Not too long after that I began creating my custom maps along with some other people in our group. As we gained popularity our server was always full due to the fast paced action we put in to our levels. Getting 100 kills in 20 min map was very achievable. With the release of future Novalogic games we continued to migrate with them. always creating the fast paced maps that everyone had been accustomed to. At the time Joint Operations came out other games had been released that dwindled the novalogic crowds down substantially, We bagan migrating to different games but i was never happy with not being able to create my own levels so I kinda of got away from the FPS game play. We had waited many years for Novalogic to release their Angel Falls game still yet to be announced its release date. I had met some awesome people over the years some of them which are still with us to this day. to the others that helped create the Original Evil I often wonder what they are doing now. We have continued the team though for many years now. We are back to stay and even if were no longer gaming we will always be brothers / sisters. Not too long after that we started hosting our own servers and going against the grain if you will of the lengthy coop maps that turned out mainly to be a sniper camping map and decided to take it to the next level by forcing the action into a close combat scenerio where chaos was your only friend. That took off like wildfire and with the introduction of Our " Friday Nite Knives " The servers were most of the time full with a waiting list of people waiting 9 to 10 minutes to get in and play with us. During that time period we racked up over 1 million kills as a team and this contiued on until the Delta Force series crowd migrated on to other games. I had created all of this to carry on that legacy and have done so for the last 15 years. I had met some awesome people and others i care not talk about. But to our loyal members and long time friends welcome home.
